Grip-Lug® Grouser Bars for Rebuilding Track Shoes
November 8th, 2008 by moresnow | No Comments | Filed in Bulldozer, Caterpillar, Compact Track LoaderAllied Construction Products, LLC has announced its 65th Anniversary and the special recognition of its first-ever product developed– the Grip-Lug grouser bar. It was introduced in 1942 during WW II when Americans were conserving everything from scrap iron to tin cans.
Grip-Lug was an innovative technique to rebuild worn crawler tracks by using a rolled steel bar welded to the worn grousers extending the life of the track itself. Re-grousing not only helped conserve steel, but the process also eliminated the need to replace track shoes. Grip-Lug is still sold today.
