Komatsu Announces 13th Annual Komatsu Advanced Technician Competition (KATC)

Komatsu’s top field and service technicians travel to Cartersville, GA, to compete in week-long competitions involving equipment diagnostics and troubleshooting

The 13th annual Komatsu Advanced Technician Competition (KATC) to be held at its Training and Demonstration Facility in Cartersville, Georgia, the week of March 2 through March 5, 2009.

Dressta has introduced the largest model in it’s line the TD-40E EXTRA crawler dozer featuring an, environmentally friendly quieter Cummins QSK19 Tier 3 engine.

This new model delivers excellent drawbar pull resulting from a high maximum torque. The new engine delivers 515 net horsepower at 2000 rpm. The massive cooling module is equipped with a hydraulically driven two-speed fan to handle the cooling characteristics of the new Tier 3 engine.

A number of features released with the TD-40E EXTRA are a gear range preselection system that includes an automatic downshift function that offers the operator a choice of various automatic operating modes, especially useful in repetitive cyclical operations.

Komatsu America Corp. introduces the D31EX-22 and D31PX-22 crawler dozers. Equipped with Komatsu’s proven Hydrostatic Transmission (HST) these machines are designed for work in general construction, site preparation, home building, forestry and utility applications. Building on the successful design of the D51-22 dozer series, the D31EX-22 machines feature a super-slant nose coupled with a new cab forward design that moves the operator closer to the blade while improving machine balance, ride and stability.

Grip-Lug® Grouser Bars for Rebuilding Track Shoes

Allied Construction Products, LLC has announced its 65th Anniversary and the special recognition of its first-ever product developed– the Grip-Lug grouser bar. It was introduced in 1942 during WW II when Americans were conserving everything from scrap iron to tin cans.

Grip-Lug was an innovative technique to rebuild worn crawler tracks by using a rolled steel bar welded to the worn grousers extending the life of the track itself. Re-grousing not only helped conserve steel, but the process also eliminated the need to replace track shoes. Grip-Lug is still sold today.

John Deere 764 High Speed Dozer

Last March If you attended Conexpo2008  you would have seen this new machine from John Deere.  Coming in 2009 and highly anticipated the John Deere 764HSD is sure to raise the bar.  The question remains will someone use it both for high speed dozing and a boat like the previous post about the Case IH STX Quadtrack.
