Ashmore Concrete Steps Up with Putzmeister to help Japan

The world’s 2nd largest airplane landed at the world’s busiest airport, in Atlanta, on Friday. The plane is in Atlanta to take one of the three biggest concrete pumps in the world to Japan.
Dave Adams, the president of Putzmeister America says the more than $2 million truck can pump three times the amount of water a normal fire truck can and that’s what he says the Tokyo Electic Power Company plans to do with it. Adams says the truck will be used on the damaged nuclear reactors at the Fukishima Nuclear Power Facility.
Jerry Ashmore, the president of Evans, GA-based Ashmore Concrete owned the giant truck until last week, when he gave it back to Putzmeister to help the Japanese.
Ashmore says, even though he needed the truck for ongoing projects, his company knew it was the right thing to do.
