Grip-Lug® Grouser Bars for Rebuilding Track Shoes
November 8th, 2008 by moresnow | Filed under Bulldozer, Caterpillar, Compact Track Loader.Allied Construction Products, LLC has announced its 65th Anniversary and the special recognition of its first-ever product developed– the Grip-Lug grouser bar. It was introduced in 1942 during WW II when Americans were conserving everything from scrap iron to tin cans.
Grip-Lug was an innovative technique to rebuild worn crawler tracks by using a rolled steel bar welded to the worn grousers extending the life of the track itself. Re-grousing not only helped conserve steel, but the process also eliminated the need to replace track shoes. Grip-Lug is still sold today.
The preformed Grip-Lug grouser bar for extreme service applications saves substantial installation time and labor compared to straight bars. Because the bar closely matches the wear pattern of the crawler’s worn track shoes, installation time is substantially reduced since trimming and welding operations are minimal. Welding Grip-Lug to worn grousers with a wire gun or stick welders can be done in the field without track disassembly.
The Grip-Lug offers many competitive advantages:
· Special Alloy Steel
Matches or exceeds original equipment standards
· Heat-treated
Preserves hardness and wear-resistance
· Restores Drawbar Pull
Extreme service is offered in a range of sizes
to restore full penetration
· Cuts Rebuilding Costs
Requires less rod per inch of weld seam than other
competitive designs
