Titan Ships First Production 63-inch Tire and Wheel Assemblies

QUINCY, Ill.-Titan Tire Corporation, a subsidiary of Titan International Inc., shipped its first giant 63-inch off-the-road (OTR) tire and wheel assemblies on July 29, 2008. These tires, each measuring nearly 14 feet tall and weighing approximately 12,500 pounds, are being shipped to Canada’s oil sands for use in mining applications.

New - John Deere K Series Loaders

These machines have been available for a while so lets get the information flowing.   Inspired by customer requests the new John Deere K Series of Loaders should be a great match for the construction site.  What may not seem that much different is updated for the end user. The quad cool system is new, the cab is larger, quieter, and with better visability.   The K Series machines hav easier to read multi-language diagnostic screens.  There is a collision detection system and a hood mounted camera.   Even more you can choose your type of controls.  There is even ground speed adaption with automatic differential lock for the tricky stuff.

Manitowoc consolidates market position in five-axle category

Manitowoc launched the latest addition to its range of five-axle Grove all-terrain cranes, the GMK5110-1. Customers and dealers were the first to see the new crane at a special open day at the Manitowoc facility in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. It was introduced at a demonstration event on the company’s test pad as part of a series of product displays.

Deere Adds New Wheel Excavators 190D & 220D

John Deere has added two new wheeled excavators. The 190D W and the 220D W, featuring Tier 3-certified engines and significant increases in horsepower, weight and digging forces over their predecessors.’

John Deere Forestry Releases Skidder Upgrades

Volvo VCE Delivers New Pipe Layer

“The first Volvo Pipelayers (Volvo PL) have arrived in North America. The Volvo PL4611, one of five models in the new product class of pipelaying machines developed by Volvo Construction Equipment, is in full production and available now for the North America market. The second model in this innovative class of heavy-duty, purpose-built equipment, the Volvo PL4608, will go into production in November with first delivery dates set for December 2008.”

JCB HMEEs Deploy to Afghanistan

Its been a while since we last wrote about the HMEE.  A recent news announcement over at JCB North America give details into the first nine of 800 machines have been  deployed in Afghanistan.

The High Mobility Engineer Excavator (HMEE) – has a $230 Million procurement contract with the U.S. Army and the machine is awesome in its power, speed of travel, and safety.
